Study Overview

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is undertaking Class Environmental Assessment and Detail Design Studies for the rehabilitation of the Highway 115 corridor between Airport Road and Highway 7/Lansdowne Street in the City of Peterborough.

Recommended Plan

The westbound and eastbound lanes of Highway 115 will be selectively resurfaced from Airport Road to Highway 7/Lansdowne Street, the outside and median eastbound shoulders will be widened to accommodate the traffic management plan during construction, and the following westbound bridges will be rehabilitated: Rail-To-Trail Overhead, Ashburnham Drive, Bensfort Road, Otonabee River, and the two bridges at The Parkway.

Notice of Project Step-Down

Based on information collected during the study, it has been determined that the project to rehabilitate the Rail-To-Trail, Bensfort Road, and Otonabee River bridges will not result in significant adverse environmental effects. In accordance with the Environmental Assessment (EA) process, it is proposed that this project be stepped down from a Group ‘B’ to a Group ‘C’ project under the MTO’s Class EA for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000).
